The objective of this harmonization protocol was to generate a harmonized dataset to address the research objectives of the Gestational Age and Body Size Harmonization Initiative. The protocol includes data from participating EUCAN-Connect cohort studies with information on gestational age at birth and at least one measurement of Body Mass Index after birth to 19 years.

Information Content
The harmonization protocol includes variables about children in the participating cohorts, covering Gestational Age at Birth (exposure) and Body Mass Index and Overweight/Obesity (outcome) at 6 time points: early infancy (>0-0.5 years), late infancy (>0.5-2 years), early childhood (>2-5 years), mid childhood (>5-9 years), late childhood (>9-14 years), adolescence (>14-19 years).
Sixteen cohorts are included in the protocol, all of which are harmonized in accordance with the LifeCycle Harmonisation Protocol/Procedure.
