The population is composed of Canadian age-matched control participants recruited in the Montreal East area without any known mental disorder.

Sociodemographic information including gender and sex identity, spiritual beliefs, social functioning, childhood experiences, and family background was also collected. Information about family pedigree, chronic health problems and history of hospitalization was also collected. Information concerning behaviour including clinical signs (ie.sychosis, depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, aggression, suicide), addiction (ie. tobacco, alcohol, drugs), and sleep were assessed. Psychotic symptoms were assessed using the PSQ and the Psychotic Symptom Rating Scales (PSYRATS). Anthropometric and vital signs were measured. Blood, saliva and hair samples were collected. Medical data obtained from the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) included information on psychiatric diagnoses and prescribed medications.
