Seniors-ENRICA-2
The population is composed of non-institutionalized individuals aged 65 years and older and living in the city of Madrid, Spain, or in four surrounding large towns: Getafe, Torrejón de Ardoz, Alcorcón, and Alcalá de Henares.

Intrinsic capacity was measured using an intrinsic capacity score computed based on the six domains proposed by WHO in the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) framework (ie, locomotion, psychology, cognition, hearing, vision, and vitality). Participants’ independence in performing basic activities of daily living (BADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) was assessed using the Katz index and Lawton index respectively. Functional impairment and vitality were also assessed.
Cognition was evaluated using the Mini-Mental State Examination test.
A Short Physical Performance Battery, including handgrip strength assessment, was performed. Audiometry was also performed to assess hearing.
