Seniors-ENRICA-2 - Baseline
Sociodemographic and lifestyle data were collected, including sex, age, educational level, hometown, tobacco smoking status, and alcohol consumption. Information on lifestyle, health status, morbidity, and use of health-care services was also assessed. Physician-diagnosed morbidities and the number of medications taken were self-reported. Food consumption was assessed using a validated diet history. Energy intake was estimated from diet history and food composition tables, and diet quality was assessed through the Mediterranean Diet Adherence Screener (MEDAS). Depression was assessed using the 10-item Geriatric Depression Scale. Sedentary behaviour, physical activity, hearing, vision, vitality, functional impairment (BADLs and IADLs), and intrinsic capacity were also assessed.
Cognition was evaluated using the Mini-Mental State Examination test.
Height and weight were measured. Physical performance, locomotion, movement behaviours, and physical function in older adults were assessed, including through accelerometry.
Blood and urine samples were collected.
