Demographic characteristics (such as age, gender, ethnic origin, language, and education) and economic characteristics (employment status, income, and financial insecurity) information are collected through an auto-reported questionnaire.
Information on previous pregnancies and modes of conception is collected. Food supplements (frequency, dosage, type), medication intake (substance, type, duration, dosage), nausea, vomiting, food preferences, and aversions are assessed. Diet information at the start of pregnancy is collected through a web questionnaire.
Information on cannabis, alcohol (frequency, products, modes of consumption, reasons for use, and abusive usage), tobacco (frequency and quantity), and other drug consumption is gathered. Physical activity (Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire) and sleep (Short Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) during pregnancy are assessed.
Psychosocial variables such as feelings about pregnancy, thoughts about the baby, pregnancy-related anxiety, well-being, depressive state, general anxiety, and perceived stress are collected. Information on personal and family psychiatric history, childhood trauma, and antisocial behavior in childhood and as a young adult from the QLSCD (Quebec Longitudinal Study of Child Development) is collected. Other psychosocial information, such as COVID-19 infection, marital satisfaction, and social support, is also assessed.
Regular ultrasound and ultrasound with nuchal translucency are performed to measure the cephalo-caudal length (LCC) and the biparietal diameter in order to confirm harmonious fetal growth. The left and right uterine arteries will be visualized, and a pulsatility index measurement will be performed to assess the risk of preeclampsia.
Blood pressure, weight, and height are measured.
Blood and hair samples are collected for nutritional biomarkers (folate, vitamin B12, iron balance) and fetal biomarkers exposure to cannabis (TCH, THC-COOH, CBD) tests. A urine sample is also collected.
