PHAC-PERC COVID population

The population is composed of children (less than 18 years old) who are tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection in any of the 14 participating pediatric emergency depatments (EDs) located across Canada.

Ethnic Origin

Health Status

Participants are included if they presented themselves to a participating emergency department for care and underwent SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing.

Other Criteria

Participants are excluded if they tested for COVID as part of asymptomatic screening without a known exposure.

PHAC-PERC COVID - Post-hospital discharge

Information about length of stay, care received, interventions, laboratory tests, and complications are collected from children hospitalized more than 14 days via chart review.
