NLSY79 Supplemental Sample
A set of 5,295 individuals was designed to oversample civilian Hispanic or Latino, black, and economically disadvantaged, nonblack/non-Hispanic youths born January 1, 1957, through December 31, 1964.
In 1991, the 1,643 members of the economically disadvantaged, non-Black/non-Hispanic supplemental sample were no longer interviewed.
Data Collection Event
NLSY79 1990 Interview
One quarter of participants were received a computer-assisted personal interview. The remaining participants were interviewed with paper-and-pencil. 12.6% of interviews were collected by telephone. Only a sub-sample of 201 respondents from the NLSY79 Military Sample was interviewed.
