The population is composed of Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH), Sault Area Hospital and Health Sciences North (Sudbury) health care workers.

Exclusion: Present symptoms compatible with COVID-19 infections and for those with confirmed COVID-19 positive had a negative NP swab test for COVID-19 (recovered from COVID-19)

Information about this study was electronically distributed to the health care workers (HCWs) at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Sault Area Hospital and Health Sciences North (Sudbury). Volunteers will contact the research coordinator and will be eligible to participate in the study if they are able to provide the blood samples and if they are willing to complete the entire 18 months of the study.

Data Collection Event

LSPIPSA-HCW - Longitudinal - Blood collection

Information was collected about type of work, age, sex, race/ethnicity, simple demographic and pre-existing medical issues on the risks of infection with COVID-19 and the severity of the infection with COVID-19. Information about the type of COVID-19 test they have done was also collected. Blood was collected by skin puncture in a micro-tube. If participants are unwilling or unable to provide a blood sample using capillary blood, blood was obtained using a venous phlebotomy.
