Population
LifeLines Population
The study population consists of a representative sample of the population of the northern provinces of the Netherlands, covering three generations. The LifeLines project will include 165.000 participants: anticipated to consist of approximately45.000 probands, 30.000 partners, 55.000 parents-(in law) and 35.000 children. Based on the age of the participant, he or she is included in the children’s cohort (0-18 years), the adult cohort (18-65 years) or the elderly cohort (>65 years).

Lifelines - Baseline visit
Baseline visit of participants.
Questionnaires: Demographics, Family composition, Work and educational level, Health, Birth and development, Lifestyle and diet, Day time spending, Living environment, Quality of life, Health perception, Personality, Stress, Social support
Measurements: Anthropometry, Blood pressure using a DINAMAP, Pulmonary function tests, 12-lead electrocardiogram, Ruffs Figure Fluency Test (RFFT): test of cognitive function, MINI: neuropsychiatric interview, Measurement of skin autofluorescence, Fasting venipuncture.
Sample collection: blood and 24-hour urine
