FAMILY - Mothers
The mothers population in the FAMILY study is composed of Canadian women living in the Hamilton region, in Ontario. They were recruited during their third trimester of pregnancy (gestational age of 21-39 weeks).
Data Collection Event
FAMILY - Mothers - 10 years
Data collection occurred at study visits through questionnaires, physical measurements, and laboratory analysis of biological samples.
Information about demographics, family health history, ethnicity, socioeconomic status (family size, education, household income), lifestyle practices (nutrition and smoking history) and parental stress were collected by questionnaire.
Weight, waist and hip circumferences, and subscapular and tricep skinfolds were measured. Body mass index was calculated. A carotid intima media thickness exam was done.
