Collected Dataset / FAMILY_Children_Birth

The children population in the FAMILY study is composed of Canadian babies born in the Hamilton region, in Ontario, between 2005 and 2009.

Data collection occurred at study visits through questionnaires, CRFs, physical measurements and laboratory analysis of biological samples.

Information on demographics and infant nutrition were collected on CRFs.

Measures included baby weight, length, percentage body fat from measures of subscapular and tricep skinfolds, and blood pressure in hospital or by home visits. Body mass index was calculated.

Cord blood and placenta (for weight, gross exam and sectioning for freezing) were collected.

Details of the perinatal course were recorded from the medical chart.
