The objective of this Harmonization Protocol was to generate harmonized datasets across 10 European birth cohorts to estimate the associations between the urban exposome and cognitive and psychomotor function in preadolescents, as part of the research objectives of the Urban Exposome Harmonization Initiative.

Information Content
This protocol covers information about the urban exposome (built environment, natural spaces, air pollution, and noise) during pregnancy and childhood (at pregnancy and on a yearly basis during childhood) and cognitive and psychomotor function in preadolescents (12-18 years of age). The studies included were European birth cohorts with urban exposure assessment during pregnancy (and/or postal codes) and at least one neuro-outcome measured during childhood. The variables include exposures, outcomes, and covariates (lifestyle and socioeconomic confounders, and exclusion criteria).
