The population is composed of Canadian paramedics from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario who have worked during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At enrolment visit, information on demographic characteristics (biological sex, gender, age, ethnicity, education level), job characteristics (job title or rank or role, years of experience, employing service), workplace stress, workplace controls characteristics (controls in place before COVID-19, changes in controls throughout the pandemic, self-reported use or adherence of controls, perceptions of control effectiveness), COVID-19 experiences (testing history and results, symptom history, time off work or job losses due to COVID-19, an estimation of the number or proportion of patients interacted with confirmed or suspected COVID-19), job tasks (including frequency of potentially “high-risk” procedures including tracheal intubation and other airway procedures, nebulized medication delivery, chest compressions, and defibrillation), and non-occupational potential risk factors (use of public transportation, COVID positive household family members, frequent use of enclosed public spaces such as restaurants) was collected. Blood samples were collected for serology testing. If participants experienced a COVID-19 infection after vaccination (indicating a vaccine failure), extra blood sample procurement would be collected to perform immunity measures.
