The population consists of residents, over the age of 19, in long-term care (LTC) homes in Ontario and British Columbia, vaccinated with one of the COVID-19 vaccines and either with or without a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Information on socio-demographic, work, history of COVID-19, travel, vaccination, health status and health care use was collected from a survey. Blood samples were collected using Dried Blood Spot (DBS) card for the determination of anti-SARS-Cov-2 antibodies, neutralizing anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and antibodies against various other human coronaviruses. Data containing person identifiers (i.e., the participant’s name, provincial health card number, date of birth and postal code) was used for linkage to provincial healthcare administrative databases housed at ICES in Ontario, and PopData BC in British Columbia. Immunization record was collected using a a mobile immunization-tracking application (CANImmunize).
