Supplementary Information about selection criteria

Partners of the mothers were invited to complete self completion questionnaires from pregnancy onwards by the mother.

Fathers were then enrolled into the study in their own right - 3000 were enrolled in 2010 and were invited to attend a hands-on clinical assessment and complete further questionnaries.

ALSPAC - Partners - Focus on father 1

Anthropometric measurements were taken. Also, a full body DXA Scan, a 3D face shape scan, a blood pressure, carotid intima media thickness, and a pulse wave velocity measurement were done.
