The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about life circumstances, health, diet and lifestyle from the Father and Family Questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, mental health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, partner information, environmental characteristics and substance use. Information about parents’ medical history, infections, eating disorders, history of medications and dietary supplements, hospital admissions, physical activity was also collected. Anthropometry measures were collected in a self-reported manner. Social information such as education, grandparental education, occupation, marital status, household income and expenditure, ethnicity, household composition, other children and siblings was collected, as well as information about the relationship with partner, partner’s ethnicity and aggression and affection levels. Smoking and alcohol intake habits information was also collected.

Amongst mental and cognitive issues, information about depression and anxiety was collected.
