The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about health and lifestyle once the baby was over 6 months old from the The Baby and Me Questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, mental health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, partner information, environmental characteristics, substance use, and parenting. Information about current health, symptoms, sleep, medications and hospital admissions, parenting information (such as attitudes toward fatherhood and paternal enjoyment) was collected, as well as information about smoking and alcohol intake habits and use of illicit drugs. Social information such as occupation, financial difficulties, social support, abuse in childhood was also collected, as well as information about partner’s level of aggression and affection and their feelings toward partner since birth.

Amongst mental and cognitive issues, information about depression, anxiety, and life events was collected.
