The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about problems parents have from the Partner’s new questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, mental health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, partner information, housing and neighbourhood characteristics, environmental characteristics, substance use, and parenting. Information about current health and symptoms, medications, and hospital admissions was collected as well. Housing and neighbourhood information and paternal enjoyment information and feelings towards pets was also collected, as well as social information such as marital status, household composition and other children, and information about partner’s health, smoking and alcohol intake habits (participant and partner), and employment.

Amongst mental and cognitive issues, information about life events was collected.
