The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about lifestyle, the role in bringing up a child and any problems from the Partner’s Health Events and Feelings Questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, mental health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, partner information, housing and neighbourhood variables, environmental exposure and substance use. Information about current health and symptoms, sleep, medications, hospital admissions and physical activity was collected. Housing and neighbourhood information and social information such as occupation, marital status, financial difficulties, childhood home, abuse in childhood, and siblings was also collected, as well as information about partner’s aggression and affection levels, health, and relationship with partner. Information about smoking and alcohol intake habits, travel to work, feelings towards pets as well as laterality was also collected

Amongst mental and cognitive issues, information about depression, anxiety, life events and self esteem was collected.
