The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about lifestyle, having and bringing up a toddler, and about yourself from the A Toddler in the House Questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, mental health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, partner information, substance use, and parenting. Information about current health and symptoms, sleep, medications, hospital admissions and physical activity was collected. Social information such as occupation, financial difficulties, social support and network was also collected, as well as information about partner’s health, relationship with partner, parenting information (such as attitudes toward fatherhood and paternal enjoyment), smoking and alcohol intake habits and use of illicit drugs.

Amongst mental and cognitive issues, information about depression, anxiety, and life events was collected.
