The population consists of partners; whether it is the biological fathers or those who take on the role of a parent of the children enrolled in the study.

Information was collected about the participant and their feelings at this stage in their partner's pregnancy from the Partner’s Questionnaire. In addition, information was collected about general physical health, diet and nutrition, social characteristics, parenting, and substance use. Physical activity and social information such as social support and network was collected, as well as information about parenting such as reaction and feelings towards pregnancy. Information about smoking habits, alcohol intake and use of illicit drugs was also collected.
