The population consists of any resulting child from all pregnant women residents in the old administrative county of Avon if their estimated delivery date fell between 1 April 1991 and 31 December 1992.

At the focus clinic, health, physiological, psychological and puberty information was assessed.

Information was collected about antisocial activities, depression, psychosis, romantic relations, menstruation, friendships, chronic pain, dental health, sexual health, bullying, substance use and interview with accompanying adult.

Working memory was assessed through a computer task.

Activity monitors (accelerometers) were used for health measures. Anthropometry, blood pressure, flow mediated dilation, inter-medial thickness were measured. Tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea were conducted and a pulse wave analysis and liver scan were done.

A blood, urine, hair and saliva sample was collected.
