The population consists of any resulting child from all pregnant women residents in the old administrative county of Avon if their estimated delivery date fell between 1 April 1991 and 31 December 1992.

At the focus clinic, health, motor skills, physiological, psychological and social information was assessed.

Borderline personality disorder, romantic relations, and friendships were assessed . Information about fractures was collected as well.

Information from activity monitors (accelerometers) and the health utilities index were used for health measures.

Motor skills measures (bike drawings) were taken and hearing, vision, scoliosis, sitting height, waist circumference, weight, grip strength and hands photocopy (ratio of length of second digit to that of fourth digit), blood pressure and pulse rate were measured.

A blood sample and saliva sample were collected.
