ALSPAC - Children
The population consists of any resulting child from all pregnant women residents in the old administrative county of Avon if their estimated delivery date fell between 1 April 1991 and 31 December 1992.

Information was collected through the use of questionnaires, and registries.
Some questions were child based and some were child completed. Questionnaires specifically collected information about health and behaviour and how child gets along with other children as well as information from child’s own questionnaire. Information was collected about physical health, mental and cognitive issues, diet and nutrition, environmental characteristics, parenting, childcare and schooling, activities and other characteristics. Information about accidents and injuries, medications, reactions to medicines, immunisations, allergies, eczema and asthma, diarrhea or gastrointestinal problems, hearing, vision, speech, growth problems, other health problems, bed wetting/ bladder problems and teeth/dental problems, diet and nutrition information including, eating behaviours, school packed lunch, special diet and food allergies, parenting information, activities such as toys activities, book reading, activities with adults, pacifier use and thumb sucking was collected. Environmental exposures were also included in the information collected such as contact with pets, and hygiene. Anthropometry measures were collected in a reported manner.
Amongst mental and cognitive issues information about parental concerns over development, and temper tantrums/rages was collected.
Children have been linked to the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) database, Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC), Annual School Census (ASC) and National and the Pupil Database (NPD).
Participants were linked to residential addresses across the life course. Linkages could be established to co-ordinates or health, political and administrative geographies. Participants could also be linked to neighbourhood data.
