The assessment collected information using questionnaires, cognitive tests, physical measures and laboratory measures.

Demographic information including age, gender, education and job was collected, as well as information about social and living condition, social support, medical support, medical history, activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living (Barthel), caregiver, healthy life style, social and religion aspects, perceived quality of life (nocturnal as well), depression (Geriatric Depression Scale - GDS), and multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS).

Cognitive function information was collected using the CERAD Neuropsychological Battery where memory, cognitive impairment, dementia, verbal fluency, confrontational word retrieval, and recognition were assessed.

Anthropometric measurements were taken and information about physical functioning outcomes and olfactory functioning was collected. Balance was measured (Berg Balance Scale - BBS) and a senior fitness test and a physical examination were performed. A bio-impedence analysis (BIA) was done to estimate body composition.

Blood samples were taken and information was collected from APOE genetic assessments. BDNF plasma levels were measured as well.
