Women and their partners were recruited between May 25, 2010 and August 30, 2012 at one of nine study centres during routine first-trimester prenatal visits to study hospitals and infertility clinics.

Data Collection Event

3D - Partners - Prenatal visit 1 (8 to 14 weeks)

Sociodemographic characteristics, history of children with congenital anomalies, medical history, smoking (first-hand), alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, employment status, and occupational environmental exposures were assessed through questionnaires.

Perceived stress, depression, anxiety disorders, self-esteem, quality marriage, marital strain, childhood, adolescence and adulthood, and food insecurity were assessed as well.

Blood and urine samples were collected .
