3D - Mothers

The population is composed of 8 to 14 weeks pregnant women from the general population between 18 and 47 years of age, who are fluent in French or English, who were attending prenatal clinics (ultrasound, midwife and/or doctor’s clinics) during the first trimester of pregnancy and who plan to deliver in a study hospital.

Exclusion criteria: Multiple pregnancies, intention to donate or bank cord blood, intravenous drug users, or if the woman has any one or more of the following conditions: HIV+ status, renal disease with altered renal function, any collagen vascular disease requiring active treatment (e.g. lupus, scleroderma), epilepsy, cardiovascular disease, serious pulmonary disease, cancer, or severe hematologic disorder.

Women were recruited between May 25, 2010 and August 30, 2012 at one of nine study centres during routine first-trimester prenatal visits to study hospitals and infertility clinics.

3D - Mothers - C1 ADO follow-up 2

Information is collected on household financial resources, employment and education of the parent and partner. Health and health behaviors, and disordered-eating indicators are assessed. Couple relationship quality and partner support, family functioning, and shared parent-child activities are assessed, along with parental social support and intolerance of uncertainty. Parenting is measured via parenting style and practices.
