Detailed sociodemographic, psychosocial, and nutritional information was collected through questionnaires that were administered to the parent.
An infant feeding and nutrition questionnaire was completed by interview to assess the initiation, duration and exclusivity of breast feeding and the age of introduction of complementary foods. Information about health problems, hospitalizations, medication use, sleep pattern, environmental exposures, and child care was also collected as well as an assessment of the mother and the father’s relationship with the child.
Child behaviour and temperament, neurodevelopment, sensory profile, and language development were assessed.
A standardized growth assessment was done, which included weight, height, arm length, back and arm skinfold thickness, crown-rump length, and head, arm and waist circumference.
