The objectives of this study are:
**Primary objectives**
* To estimate the incidence rate of COVID-19 among dentists across different jurisdictions in Canada, during the phased reopening of dental care services;
* To estimate the extent to which the use of aerosol-generating procedures is associated with the increased risk of contracting COVID-19 among Canadian dentists;
* To estimate the extent to which the use of N95 masks is associated with the reduced risk of contracting COVID-19 among Canadian dentists; and
**Secondary objective**
* To document the dental regulatory authorities' practice guidelines and range of dental care provided by dentists during the pandemic period and subsequent stages of the phased reopening of services.

- Follow Up
- Follow-up took place every 4 weeks (online) up to 12 months post-baseline. Saliva samples were obtained at baseline and every four weeks after that from a sub-cohort of participants. The end of follow-up was the earliest event among the following: i) self-reported diagnosis of COVID19; ii) detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in saliva; iii) death; or iv) completion of the study 12 months after the baseline survey.

DENTALCARE-COVID population
The population is composed of dentists who are licensed to practice general or specialty dentistry in Canada, are SARS-CoV-2 negative and have no history of COVID-19.
