The objective of the Swedish Cohort Consortium (COHORTS.SE-HI) harmonization initiative is to develop harmonized variable definitions common to all Swedish population-based cohorts in order to allow for more precise research findings and the facilitation of research on rare diseases and exposures, leading to better utilization of study participants’ data, better return of funders’ investments, and a higher benefit to patients and populations.
