The population is composed of mainly adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) diagnosed by the treating rheumatologist.

The visit of the patient was either regularly scheduled or at the initiative of the patient. Information about disease activity, anti-rheumatic treatments, side effects, reasons for discontinuation, co-morbidities was collected. Inflammatory activity was measured with the Disease Activity Score and by counting the swollen and tender joints. Pain was measured with the self-administered Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity Index questionnaire, which also includes stiffness and global assessment of disease activity. Disability was assessed with the modified Stanford Health Assessment Questionnaire. Hand and foot X-rays were performed every 2-3 years at the discretion of the treating physician. Biosample(s) timing is left at the discretion of the treating physician. As a first aim of the biobank, at least one sample for each patient should be collected.
