The population is composed of all patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) diagnosed by the treating rheumatologist.

Information about education, age at disease onset, patient- and physician-reported clinical endpoints (e.g., pain, skin manifestation, inflammatory markers), comorbidities, and medication use was collected. Composite disease activity scores were collected and included the 28-joint disease activity score (DAS28) using the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and DAS28 using C-reactive protein. Functional capacity was measured using the Dougados Functional Index. Biosample(s) timing is left at the discretion of the treating physician. As a first aim of the biobank, at least one sample for each patient should be collected.
