RESPECT - Healthcare/Research/Clinical workers

The population is composed of asymptomatic individuals working within a healthcare, research or clinical organization at increased risk due to the nature of their occupation (cannot work from home or difficult distancing) and location in a hot spot in Ontario.

Health Status

Exclusion:

Individuals with fever, respiratory or flu-like symptoms.

Individuals with specific symptoms including:

Fever, chills or headache
New or worsening cough
Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat or difficulty swallowing
Runny nose or stuffy nose without another cause (e.g. allergies)
Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain
Decrease/loss of taste or smell
Unexplained fatigue, malaise, muscle aches
Eye pain or pink eye.

Individuals should be screened for symptoms as per their institutional requirements.

Other Criteria

Inclusion:

Occupation in healthcare/research or clinical organization

Asymptomatic as per daily screening

No contra-indication to performing a nasopharyngeal swab

Data Collection Event

RESPECT - Healthcare/Research/Clinical workers - Baseline

Information about sociodemographic, exposures and travel history, occupation category, symptoms in the past 21 days, and vaccination was collected. Mental health information was also collected. Blood samples were collected to look for COVID-19 specific antibodies and/or proteins. A nasopharyngeal (NP) swab may be done for COVID-19 testing.
