PlasCov population

The population is composed of individuals aged 18 and older, eligible for donating plasma, who are frequent plasma donors at Héma-Québec and are distributed in 10 different sites across the province of Quebec.

Health Status

Exclusion: Have sore throat or symptoms of sore throat, and fever

Other Criteria

Exclusion: Being pregnant
Having done acupuncture or electrolysis with other material than single-use needles
Weigh less than 50 kg (110 lb), regardless of height
Taking certain medications that may pose a risk to the donor or recipient
Having been injected drugs intravenously

Data Collection Event

PlasCov - Plasma donation 5

Information about socio-demographic (age, sex, location (CLSC, RLS, RSS), ethnicity, weight/height) and certain health conditions (high blood pressure/controlled diabetes/mild asthma, blood type, etc.) was collected. Information about vaccination (type, dose, date) and infection: result and date of positive screening for COVID-19 was also collected. Plasma samples were collected.
