PATH - 40+
The population is composed of individuals living in the Australian Capital Territory and the neighbouring town of Queanbeyan in the adjoining state of New South Wales and who are aged 40-44 years (birth years 1956-60) at the start of the study.
Data Collection Event
PATH - 40+ - Wave 2
Each cohort was interviewed over 1 year. A broad range of fixed and time-varying risk factors and moderators have been collected in the interviews. These include information on demographics, health, stressors, social aspects, self-reported mental health, psychological scales and self-reported general health.
Cognitive measures (e.g. memory, reaction time) were collected.
Physical measures (FEV, grip strength, blood pressure, pulse) were also taken.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) substudy: At wave 2, a subsample of the 40+ cohort received a brain MRI and blood tests.
Each cohort was interviewed over 1 year.
The participants were aged 44-48 years.
