Data Collection Event

Mommybabyfmm - Mothers Non-Therapeutic Writing Group - Recruitment
At the time of recruitment, information about women’s prenatal maternal stress (PNMS) and their degree of objective hardship due to fires were collected. Participants in this treatment group completed short bursts of expressive writing each day for four days, addressing non-emotional issues of healthy lifestyle. All participants completed questionnaires about demographics background, coping style (Brief COPE and Brief R-COPE), maternal social support (Social Support Questionnaire - SSQ), maternal experience (Peritraumatic Dissociative Experience Questionnaire - PDEQ), PTSD symptoms (Impact of Event Scale - IES-R), maternal anxiety (Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety - STAI), stress (Perceived Stress Scale - PSS) and depression (Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale - EPDS). To assess the resilience of the participants, they were examined from both the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and their responses to post-journaling questions after analysis of the content of their reflections (in journaling and post-journaling).
