G3 consisted of the grandchildrens' generation, aged 16 to 26 years at wave 1 (born 1945-1955).

Attitudes and opinions were measured in a self-administered, mailed questionnaire on a wide range of topics: social attitudes, educational and occupational attainment, family formation, and intergenerational relationships.
