LifeGene - Children - Baseline
During the baseline investigation, information is collected from two primary sources: internet-based questionnaires and in person testing (IPT). Only the custodians fill-out questionnaires about children aged 14 and younger. Both custodian and adolescent answer surveys for adolescents from 11 to 14 years. Adolescents of 15 to 18 years answer alone their baseline survey.
The questionnaire provides information about several lifestyle factors and health status such as sociodemographic information, lifestyle, self-care, puberty, living habits, medical history, injuries, asthma and allergies, and mental health.
During the in person testing, physical measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, waist, hip and thorax circumferences, bioimpedance, hearing and respiratory function) were taken and blood and urine were collected. Clinical chemistry analyses are done only for people of 15 years or older.
