The population is composed of people experiencing homelessness: unsheltered, emergency sheltered or provisionnally accomodated, who are 16 years of age or older living in Toronto.

Information on demographic, health (chronic medical conditions, weight, height), housing history, tobacco and e-cigarette use, alcohol use, drug use, COVID-19 vaccine uptake, reasons for COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, COVID-19 testing and results, COVID-19 hospitalization, stay at a COVID-19 isolation or recovery hotel, exposure to persons with confirmed COVID-19, employment, volunteer work, and frequency of adherence to public health measures over the 3 months prior to the interview were collected. Information required for administrative database linkage (health card number, sex on health card, and date of birth) were also collected at the interview. Saliva samples and finger-prick blood samples were collected for the detection of antibodies toward SARS-CoV-2. One saliva sample was obtained using the mouth swish-and-gargle technique and the second one was collected using Salivette tubes, in which participants were instructed to chew on a cotton swab for a set amount of time. Linkage to administrative databases was performed to collect information about housing history, health, health conditions relevant to COVID-19, COVID-19 testing data, COVID-19 healthcare encounters, emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and deaths. Information about participant use of physical distancing hotels or shelter programs was also collected from the Shelter Support & Housing Administrative (SSHA) Division of the City of Toronto.
