The population is composed of all immigrants admitted to Canada since 1952 including taxfilers and non-taxfilers.

Data on individual and family incomes, family composition, such as the number of kids and the spouse identification number, and tax information have been collected from the annual individual T1 file, T4 Tax file, and Canada Child Tax Benefit file. Information about salary, wages, and taxable benefits paid to employees for services rendered during the year, pension adjustment, province of employment, province of employee, T4 earnings per by tax year, and number of T4 slips per tax year is also collected. Information on variables is collected annually, although data availability may vary by year.
