HeLTI Canada - Mothers - Intervention
The population is composed of women who are planning to be pregnant within the next three years and are randomly allocated to the intervention group. In the intervention group, participants get detailed risk assessments, individualized and structured management plans, scheduled follow-up calls, and access to individualized and evidence-based online resources.
Data Collection Event
HeLTI Canada - Mothers Intervention - Pregnancy 24 to 28 weeks
Information is collected about medical history and medication use, physical activity (Global Physical Activity Questionnaire), sedentary behaviors, sleep (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), breastfeeding (Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale), general self-efficacy (General Self-Efficacy Scale), anxiety (General Anxiety Disorder-7), depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale), stress (Perceived Stress Scale), relationship satisfaction, intimate partner violence, social support (Social Provisions Scale), sociodemographic indicators, exposures to tobacco smoke, alcohol and prescribed medication use, substance abuse, home and work toxins, adverse events (homicidal behaviours, death, diseases), and COVID-19 (symptoms, diagnosis, employment status).
Weight and blood pressure are collected.
Blood samples are collected. An oral glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes is performed.
Information on health service utilisation by participants living in Ontario is retrieved through the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) data inventory.
