Population

HeLTI Canada - Mothers - Intervention
The population is composed of women who are planning to be pregnant within the next three years and are randomly allocated to the intervention group. In the intervention group, participants get detailed risk assessments, individualized and structured management plans, scheduled follow-up calls, and access to individualized and evidence-based online resources.

Data Collection Event

HeLTI Canada - Mothers Intervention - Preconception post-randomization
Information is collected about medical history and medication use, nutrition, physical activity (Global Physical Activity Questionnaire), sedentary behaviours, sleep (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), anxiety (General Anxiety Disorder-7), depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9), general self-efficacy (General Self-Efficacy Scale), reproductive history, relationship satisfaction, intimate partner violence, social support (Social Provisions Scale), adverse childhood life experiences, sociodemographic indicators, exposures to tobacco smoke, alcohol, substance abuse, home and work toxins, adverse events (homicidal behaviours, death, diseases), and COVID-19 (symptoms, diagnosis, employment status). Physical measurements such as height, weight, arm and waist circumference, and blood pressure are collected. Blood samples are collected voluntarily from participants in the greater Toronto area.
