Population

Engage-COVID-19 population
The population is composed of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBM) who are enrolled in the Engage Cohort Study and are older than 16 years.

Data Collection Event

Engage-COVID-19 - Wave 2

Information was collected from a survey on-site or online about experiences and risk factors for COVID-19 (history of a COVID-19 diagnosis, related symptoms and outcomes (e.g., hospitalization, ICU), overall testing experience and history, presence of known risk factors for severe disease outcomes), understanding and uptake of public health and community COVID-19 messaging (e.g., sources of information and how enters into health behaviours and decision-making, adherence to physical distancing or self isolation); effect of the pandemic on finances and work; access to Essential Health Services; sexual Health and sexual decision-making; psychological impacts and mental health, and substance use Patterns. Interviews covered the 7 domains outlined above and were conducted using online video conferencing software. In addition to the HIV/STI testing done during Engage Cohort Study visits, SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing is also conducted.
