Collected Dataset / EINSTEIN_Mothers_Control_Delivery

The population is composed of nonpregnant married women ages 18 to 45, who have no children or one child, who are planning to get pregnant within the next two years, and are allocated to the control group. The women receive 100 tablets of iron and folate supplements, and information sessions about health, lifestyle, breastfeeding, immunizations and infant weaning foods with a health worker. They are also encouraged to have an institutional delivery and necessary vaccinations during pregnancy.

Delivery details and any delivery complications such as ICU admissions, birth trauma, infections, and pre-eclampsia are collected. Information is also collected about adverse events (homicidal behaviours, death, diseases) and COVID-19 (symptoms, diagnosis, employment status). Weight is measured. Blood samples are collected. Stool or rectal swabs are collected from a subset of the population.
