The population is composed of patients (including pregnant women and pediatric patients) who have been hospitalized with moderate to severe illness and who underwent a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 with a negative result.

Demographic information, patient type and profile (COVID status, severe/mild disease, age, sex, weight, height, smoking status, drug use, healthcare worker status, etc.), medical history, results of any routine laboratory tests ordered by the attending physician, COVID-19 symptoms information are collected through questionnaires. Obstetrics information (postpartum, pregnancy outcome, baby's COVID status, other infectious pathogens of the mother), is collected from a subset of participants. Pediatric information (birth weight and length of gestation), is collected from a subset of participants. Vital sign information such as body temperature, blood pressure, breathing rate and heart rate, oxygen saturation on room air and oxygen therapy are collected. Blood and stool samples are collected.
