The population is composed of Alberta's residents aged 35 to 69 years who had no history of cancer, other than non-melanoma skin cancer.

Supplementary Information

The ATP recruitment was done using a two-stage telephone random digit dialling (RDD) method mapped to Alberta Regional Health Authorities (RHAs). While recruiting new participants in 2009, the RDD method was shortly replaced by the volunteer sampling. Communication and advocating strategies, including the Ambassador Program, media coverage, marketing, advertising, information booths at community events, corporate presentations and articles, were used to promote volunteer recruitment

Data Collection Event

ATP - Survey 2008

The 2008 survey collected information about general health, personal medical history, lifetime history, family health history, cancer screening, paps and mammograms, reproductive health, tobacco use, tobacco quitting status, quality of life, sleep pattern and/or shift work, demographics, employment status and occupational history, fruit and vegetable intake, physical activity, sedentary behaviours, primary care utilization, built environment, residential history, and body measurements.
